X5 Moonroof noise

I recently purchased an X5 with the large moonroof. When I drive at highway speeds the noise is tremendous with it completely open. Is this normal? I have noticed that if I open the rear windows the noise is less, is there another trick, or do you just have to keep it only partially opened at higher speeds?

i have an 06 4.8is, and I was told by the dealer when I took possession to just use the sunroof in the first position on the highway. In the owners manual I think they call it the "comfort" setting and recommend not using the sunroof fully open on the highway.
