When is a good time to change hoses

Greetings all , I am wondering when i should think about changing hoses on my x5 (2002 with 44000 orig miles ) .
Im definitely one of those guys who not only wants to avoid unexpected problems but like the feeling of driving a extremely well maintained vehicle, unexpected breakdowns is one form of stress I would like to avoid ...thanks pop

Check them visually and look for cracking and drying. I would say that you should be fine unless you see some evidence of rot.

Plastic neck radiators tend to fail around 100K to 150K miles. If the radiator/hoses haven't been changed by that time, change them with a new radiator around 100K miles if you don't want to take any chances.
